Meet our French Angora Rabbits!
~ Timberwood Farm & Fiber ~

The Angora rabbit has been bred for centuries to produce the fine, soft, extremely
warm wool that is popular with hand-spinners and knitters. There are four currently
recognized varieties of Angora Rabbit - the English, French, German, and Giant
Angora.  Here at Timberwood Farm, we have French Angoras.

The French Angora is considered a medium size rabbit, averaging 7-8 pounds at
maturity.  Classified as a "commercial" type, the French Angora has a wide and deep
body, usually about 15-17 inches long with an oval head.   The head and feet of the
French Angora are covered with "normal" fur as opposed to the long wool that covers
the body of the rabbit.   Since they have been selectively bred for centuries for their
woolly coats, the Angora rabbit tends to be a docile rabbit easily handled and
affectionate.  All our rabbits are fully pedigreed.
